A Hero and a baby

As most of the MCJ family knows, our son Caleb Michael Collins lost his life in July 2015 in a tragic incident in Hawaii when he dove into the ocean in an attempt to save a friend from drowning. An amazing young man with his entire life ahead of him, Caleb selflessly risked his life because he saw a friend in dire straights in the ocean. The hole in our heart will never be filled but we are so very thankful and blessed to welcome another Caleb Michael into the world, our grandson Caleb Michael Knapper. Caleb was born Oct. 8, 2016 to our daughter Briana and her boyfriend Carneal Knapper.

It is a certainty that our new grandson will grow up to be a very extraordinary young man, just like his uncle. Caleb Michael Collins was one of the most impressive young people I've ever known and he literally accomplished more in his 22 years of life than most do in an entire lifetime. He was an extremely positive person and he encouraged a wide circle of friends daily while he relentlessly pursued a carefully laid out life plan. Caleb serves as an inspiration to many and as we watch little Caleb grow up, we'll make sure he knows the legacy of his hero namesake.
