Last year I was speaking to Rahsaan about the very good season his basketball team at Hogan High in Kansas City, Mo. had in 2017. So, what was your team's won lost record Rahsaan? "I really don't know Unc". Aww come on Rahsaan, surely you know what your team's record was. "No, I don't. All I know is, we didn't win the championship". After falling short last year in the semi final game their team set the goal of becoming state champs, worked extremely hard and refused to be distracted. Fast forward to 2018 and the Missouri Class 3 State Champions are, (drumroll) Hogan Prep! Our very own MCJ lil cousin Rahsaan Collins had an outstanding performance with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists in defeating Charleston 63-58 for the Missouri Class 3 Boys state basketball championship. In addition to being a star athlete Rahsaan is also a star student with a 3.7 GPA and he can now add to his resume the title of champion. MCJ, please join in congratulating Rahsaan and his parents Malcolm and Tasha on achieving a level of success that will travel with him as he journeys through life.
