Countdown to MCJ 2018

Whats up MCJ, hope you're beating the heat this long hot summer. Well, we're counting down the days until our big party in New Orleans and we just wanted to share the latest and give you a few tips for getting the most out of MCJ 2018 in New Orleans. Btw, this image is the Mississippi River bridge and New Orleans downtown skyline from the vantage point of our host hotel on the west side of the river at the base of the bridge on Westbank Expressway.

Hopefully you've made your hotel reservations by now, but for those that may have been uncertain about coming the cut-off for getting the MCJ hotel rate is July 31st. The hotel options are Courtyard By Marriott (504) 366-1010 and Homewood Suites (504) 619-9800.

Next piece of business, we have a communication from our hardworking scholarship committee which is as follows:

Hello family! On behalf of the MCJ Scholarship Committee we would like to thank everyone who has submitted their student report card(s). Please, please, please spread the word if you know of any other students that are attending the MCJ 2018 Reunion in New Orleans, LA. The scholarship committee ask respectfully that we receive all reports card by August 31st, 2018. We will not accept them after that time… No exceptions! We have several options listed to submit report cards.

A reminder for enjoying your stay in New Orleans. Our reputation for eating and drinking and having a lot of fun is well earned and well deserved. Please keep in mind that you will have a much better time if you keep everything in moderation and don't over do it. We want everyone to be safe and only take good memories back home. That said, it's on!

As most of you know, our next two reunion cities waiting in the wings are Virginia Beach, VA in 2019 and Kansas City, MO in 2020. Our cousin Debbie Croskey and family will be here in New Orleans to get us revved up about a completely new and exciting beachfront resort experience awaiting us next year in Virginia Beach. Please be prepared to be both open minded and very encouraging to her since she is stepping out on faith to host the MCJ reunion for the first time.

And last but certainly not least. Please encourage our young people to attend the reunion. I know they have many distractions and many activities they're involved in and family reunions may seem boring or seem like its just for the older folks to them. Number one, its not like that any more. The reunion will be fun for all, guaranteed! And we're rewarding them for doing well in school through the scholarship program. Its important, let's all make a commitment to be with family. That's about it, can't wait to see you all.
