Hello MCJ, just like the O'jays we're singing the money song. Why you ask? Well, due to a very timely tip from our financially savvy cousin Dorice Johnson Merritt, MCJ Family Reunion Incorporated is now nicely capitalized with several thousand dollars courtesy of the government's Economic Injury Disaster Loan fund. Turns out nonprofit organizations are eligible too, especially those doing great things like MCJ. Good things happen when you have funds to invest so I propose we empower our Scholarship committee to come up with creative ways to make this money grow so we can do major good things with it in the future. We'll take this item up for discussion at our next meeting, maybe a virtual one on zoom soon.

Next on the agenda is a follow-up to our last zoom get together where we decided to postpone our reunion this year in Kansas City until 2021. Everyone enjoyed the zoom meeting so much we're going to schedule another one, sometime around Labor Day weekend and we can run it like we were enjoying our regular reunion, just from all different cities, sounds like big fun huh! The KC crew (which Dawn & I are officially a part of this week as we're moving to KC. We'll put the virtual program together so let's all look forward to setting apart some time Labor Day weekend for a virtual hug fest, MCJ reunion mash up on Zoom. We'll get back with you soon on the exact day & time schedule so you can lock it in.

And lastly, if there was any doubt we made the right decision to postpone the reunion this year you should take note of the out of control coronavirus case numbers in many parts of the country right now and for the foreseeable future. Many people we know are suffering with the virus so please keep them in your prayers.

We urge everyone to follow the guidance recommended by reputable health officials including wearing masks, social distancing, frequently washing hands and limiting gatherings.

There you have it, some good news to go along with the many challenges we face these days. Be safe everyone and we're looking forward to seeing your smiling faces soon.

Much Love,

MCJ 2021 Planning Committee.
