Labor Day 2020

Greetings MCJ, hope all is well. Hopefully everyone knows by now we will not be getting together with our large MCJ Reunion this year because of the concerns of the coronavirus pandemic. We made the decision to postpone the 2020 reunion scheduled to be held in Kansas City, Mo until Labor Day weekend 2021. We were thinking of a way to lessen the disappointment we'll all be feeling next month when we won't have our usual love-fest so we'd like to have a virtual get together instead.

We all enjoyed our zoom call so much back in June that we'd like to expand it to an even bigger audience and give it somewhat of a format where we get to visit and have fun and have time set aside for a business meeting as well. What a great idea!

Here's what we're thinking. The Saturday before Labor Day is September 5th. Normally on Saturday morning at the reunion we'd have our business meeting at 9:00 a.m. Since we won't be traveling we could still get together virtually at say 10:00 a.m. and visit with each other for 30 minutes while everyone is coming online. Then, we could have a business meeting at 10:30 a.m. and I'm sure it won't take anymore than 30-45 minutes. A great way to stay in touch and keep our momentum going until we meet again in 2021.

The next suggestion is totally optional but at least I'll share what we're planning here in KC and that is a backyard Bar BQ with the immediate family, as safely as possible of course, given the times we're in. So there you have it, staying connected at this most important time of the year but doing so safely until this coronavirus is hopefully over soon.

I'll send the details of the Zoom call and meeting itinerary soon so everyone can plan ahead. Please make every effort especially for our seniors to allow them to participate on the Zoom call, it will be a special treat for them and everyone. And please, please everyone continue to do the things to keep our families safe during this time.
