Dear Brother Joe Johnson

As most of you know by now, longtime MCJ family member Joe Johnson passed on Tuesday September 19, 2023. Here is the announcement of his death from his family.

Gwendolyn Johnson-Daniels and Yolanda Johnson-Lewis are sad to announce the passing of our father Joe L. Johnson on Tuesday,19th September 2023. Services will be held at:

Providence Missionary Baptist Church

8401 S. Ashland Ave. Chicago, Illinois

On behalf of MCJ Family Reunion I would like to add a few words on our beloved cousin Joe Johnson who was absolutely devoted to attending our annual family reunions. Joe's attendance record at the reunions was remarkable and he didn't miss until quite recently after he became ill. A generous, warm, and caring person is who we knew Joe to be and we will miss his easy smile and positive spirit. Although his was a quiet demeanor, Joe would definitely speak up when he had something to say. When he did speak he spoke with authority and he represented a generation that is rapidly slipping away. Rest well dear brother Joe, rest well.
