Family Member Transition

We regret to inform you that Ida (Peggy) Lee has transitioned from this life on Nov. 17, 2021. Peggy had been in declining health for years and spent the last several years in a nursing facility in Detroit, Michigan. For all longtime MCJ family members you will recall her warm smile and congenial demeanor to all she came in contact with.

Peggy was MCJ Family Reunion President for many years and was a driving force consistently sharing the importance of family to all. Her loving sister Pearl Askew was her caregiver and will share the arrangements with us when available although it will be sometime after Thanksgiving holiday. Her obituary to come will share the details of a life filled with love and accomplishment and even some tragedy.

We mourn the passing of our beloved Peggy but we celebrate a very generous and loving spirit who was a powerful and positive presence in our family. May God grant her good judgement and embrace her spirit for all eternity.
