MCJ 2021 Family Reunion News

Greetings Fam, hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Just wanted to touch base with everyone regarding the outlook for the MCJ Family Reunion 2021. We're very encouraged by the recent national trend in coronavirus infections going down and the ramping up of the vaccination program. If these trends hold for the next several months it looks like the environment for gatherings like our reunion will be much improved by Labor Day.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but we'd like to take it step by step in order to make the very important decision to host the reunion this year. What we propose is that we set a decision date for Saturday May 1st, which will give us ample time to prepare whether that means waiting another year or giving the green light for this year. Please set your calendars for Saturday morning May 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. for a family wide zoom call so everyone will get the opportunity to have input on the decision to have the reunion this year or not.

The MCJ Family Reunion 2021 KC host committee will be prepared to offer its recommendation at that time. I'd like to preview that recommendation by saying that as long as the coronavirus case numbers keep going down and vaccinations stay on track we want to host the family in KC this year. We already have our facilities reserved and other planning in place. We also have some seed capital from early dues payers (from previous year) and it won't be a problem to get our dues collections and hotel reservations ramped up quickly.

Please spread the word about the zoom call on May 1st, I'll be sending out links and invitations well before the call. Also I would strongly recommend that everyone look into getting the coronavirus vaccine so that we can have a safe and healthy get together in September. Well, that's the latest on the reunion front. We know that we've all had a very tough and challenging time since we last were together. We've lost family and friends so it will really be great to see everyone this coming Labor Day.
