Hello family. Although we're on the final approach toward landing MCJ 2021 KC in September, we're experiencing what I would call a bit of air turbulence in the form of recent upticks in the rate of new coronavirus cases. Do not worry! There's a reason for the recent surge in new cases, primarily it's the Delta variant of the virus and it's due to significant swaths of the population refusing to get vaccinated.
So, what can we do as a family to guard against this threat? Make sure that you and your family get vaccinated! Yes, we strongly recommend all family members receive the COVID 19 vaccination. In order to help you make an informed judgement about receiving the vaccination, we are including some factual information straight from the Centers for Disease Control, the foremost medical authority on the subject.
What You Need to Know
COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective at preventing COVID-19 disease, especially severe illness and death.
COVID-19 vaccines reduce the risk of people spreading the virus that causes COVID-19.
You may have side effects after vaccination. These are normal and should go away in a few days.
It typically takes 2 weeks after vaccination for the body to build protection (immunity) against the virus that causes COVID-19. You are not fully vaccinated until 2 weeks after the second dose of a 2-dose vaccine or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine.
Learn how to find a COVID-19 vaccine so you can get it as soon as you can.
After you are fully vaccinated, you can resume activities that you did before the pandemic. Learn more about what you can do when you have been fully vaccinated.
Moving on to MCJ 2021 KC planning, the excitement is building toward a superb and fun filled event. We're anticipating every detail and we're pleased to announce that we'll have transportation assistance in place for those who are flying in to KC without renting a car to get around. If you need transportation assistance during you're stay in KC, please drop me an email or text with the details of when and where you need the assistance (see contact info below).
