Greetings Fam, we're in the home stretch leading up to our MCJ Family Reunion 2022 Cruise to the Bahamas on Sept 2nd leaving from Orlando Florida. At last count we were at approximately 22 cabins, roughly 45 people confirmed for the cruise. Not the numbers we would get for a land based get together but not bad for an adventure out of the country. Here's a few items to be aware of prior to our travel dates just over two weeks from now.
By now everyone should have downloaded the Royal Caribbean app and completed the check-in process. If you have not please do so asap. Everyone who has a confirmed reservation should have received an email requesting that you download the app and check in. If, for any reason you didn't receive an email, call or text Will (414) 841-8466.
Next, you also should have communicated with Lee re: your tee shirt order. The order has been submitted so if you didn't pre-order, maybe he may have an extra shirt or two, check with him at the meet and greet Friday evening aboard the ship. Most have already made their transportation arrangements to Orlando. We recommend getting in to Orlando the day before simply because of the chaos that's been happening with airline flights this summer.
For the few children attending the cruise, please bring your report cards just in case. We hope to be able to do a scholarship award but we aren't totally sure if our educational committee will be able to pull it off this year. We'll keep you posted on that but I would bring your child's latest report card for those under college age who are attending the reunion.
And lastly, here's Will's latest post regarding the cruise and up to date covid protocols.
Hello MCJ Family well we are 23 days from sail day. I hope everyone has downloaded the app and has started the check in process. As of August 8 the covid protocol has changed. I will post the information from the Royal Caribbean website at the end of this message. If you are having any problems with the check in process please call me asap and I can help you out. I will see everyone aboard the Independence Of The Seas.
Health & safety
If you experience any of the following symptoms within three days of your cruise, please stay home and give us a call: • Difficulty breathing • Diarrhea • Sore throat • Nausea/vomiting • Fatigue/muscle aches • Headaches • Cough/nasal congestion
Vaccination
All guests 12 and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with the final dose given at least 14 days before sailing (not including your sail day). Vaccine boosters are encouraged. Kids 5-11 who are fully vaccinated may follow the protocols for vaccinated guests. Royal Caribbean accepts vaccines that are fully approved or authorized for emergency use by the U.S. FDA or the World Health Organization, with the exception of CanSino.
Pre-cruise testing
On sailings lasting 5 nights or less, unvaccinated guests 2 and older must show a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 3 days of your sail date. On sailings 6 nights or longer, all guests 2 and older must show a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 3 days of your sail date. Any FDA‐approved, supervised (in person or via telehealth) PCR or antigen test meet this requirement. Arrangements and costs for pre-cruise testing are the guest's responsibility.
Denial of boarding
Failure to meet or comply with any of our health and safety protocols may result in denial of boarding.
Much Love,
MCJ Planning Committee
