Hola family, hope you and yours are well. Welp, if you didn't go on the cruise I can't tell you what happened because what happens on the cruise stays on the cruise... nah just kidding. The MCJ Family Reunion Cruise to the Bahamas with the Perfect Day at Coco Cay was fantastic! The Royal Caribbean Cruise departed from Orlando, Florida and cruised to Nassau, Bahamas plus an entire day on the private island Coco Cay, it truly was over the top good! I'd like to shout out Will & Dee Simon for their exceptional planning and the phenomenal cruise experience we all enjoyed. Since they are cruise aficionados, Will & Dee wanted nothing more than to share this cruise experience with family so on behalf of MCJ Family Reunion Inc. we'd like to thank Will & Dee for their hosting of our 2022 gathering.
Next up is Washington DC baby, and we couldn't be more excited about our MCJ family once again descending upon our nation's capital. From north, south, east and west our family will show up and show out next labor day weekend September 1-3, 2023. Now, we know everyone may not be into cruising so we could understand not having our full compliment of family members attending the reunion/cruise this year. However, we fully expect that our entire family will not want to miss a very exciting and fun filled opportunity to visit the historic home of our nation's capitol. We hope to be back to the numbers of family members attending the reunion we've enjoyed in the past. Our cousin, Tamika Law is our host next year and will plan an extraordinary experience for us in Washington DC.
So, since this message is intended to close out this years reunion and hype the next one lets take a look at a few items from this year's family get together. First, as you know, no dues are paid in years where we vote to take a cruise as the designated reunion event. Since no dues were paid we do not have a financial report. However, I am proud to say we were able to bless our young people to the tune of raising and distributing a total of 765.00 to six very deserving young people either attending the cruise in person or meeting the college attendance exception. Huge shout out to Pamela Johnson Fields for an incredible, prompt, and efficient execution of the scholarship awards. Pam is one of our scholarship committee members and although she was handling this task alone, Pam did a phenomenal job and our MCJ family is thankful for her service.
Well, thats about it family, we wanted to let you know we had a great time on the cruise, tease your appetite for a good time in Washington, DC next year and recognize outstanding contributions from our cruise hosts Will & Dee, our scholarship committee member Pam, and to let our cousin Tamika know that MCJ will be in the house next year in Washington, DC Sept. 1-3, 2023.
Much Love,
MCJ Planning Committee
